Underground services include but are not limited to the installation of new consumer mains, connection of underground services to supply authority pits and turrets, installation of private pits and turrets.
Underground service is a premises electrical consumer/customer mains cable connected from the energy distribution network pit or turret to the customer’s premises which then leads into an electrical switchboard.
Underground consumer mains on most occasions require excavation of the customer’s premises to install the cable from the distribution network to the switchboard Connection of underground services are to be done by an electrical contractor who is authorised in level 2 service work.
